About Arita Porcelain
The history of Arita porcelain began in 1616, when a naturalized Korean potter, Yi Sam-pyeong, discovered white porcelain ore in Senzan, Arita, and succeeded in firing white porcelain ware for the first time at Tengu Valley in Shirakawa.
